Abstract
This technique of using horizontal advancement flaps for the nasal supratip region is sometimes described as a Burow’s flap or more recently as an “east-west” flap. Conceptually, this reconstruction is similar to a linear closure in which one of the standing cone excisions is shifted horizontally off-axis to place the scar within a subunit border. However, there is also some horizontal redistribution of tension which occurs as the tissue advances from two different bases.
