Abstract
There are many options for reconstruction of the nasal sidewall. Generally, there is good laxity in the horizontal dimension for a linear closure which can be recruited from the cheek. However, in some younger patients there may be less of this laxity. A V-Y myocutaneous flap can utilize some of the horizontal laxity, while limiting distortion of the lower sidewall near the ala. This flap can be raised as a traditional island flap or more extensively developed on a nasalis muscle pedicle for longer reach.
