Abstract
The medial, peri-alar cheek subunit comprises that portion of the cheek lateral to the alar-facial sulcus and melolabial crease. Skin malignancies are common in this region and contribute to the majority of defects presenting for reconstruction. As such many defects may be circular in shape; however, clearance of tumors may create ovoid and other random-shaped defects which will affect flap selection.
