Abstract

This chapter discusses the recommended storage conditions of prequalified vaccines. First, data from the literature on heat and freeze stability are summarized and explained. Next, an excursus provides current information on the shelf life and storage requirements of COVID-19 vaccines. Then, the challenge of cold storage and its importance in vaccine distribution is discussed. Finally, a vision for an ideal vaccine is outlined, and potential improvements are identified.
