Abstract

In youth with combined dyslipidemia (CD), evidence-based management integrates focused approaches to diet and physical activity. This chapter provides an overview of dietary techniques addressing weight management and changes in diet composition plus methods to enhance activity; all are proven, effective ways to address CD. Suggested eating patterns and an age-based activity algorithm are provided. A brief discussion of medication therapy is included for the rare child or adolescent in whom the response to lifestyle change is inadequate.
