Abstract

In this chapter, we provide a brief overview of lipid metabolism with a focused discussion and review of lipoproteins, endogenous and exogenous lipid metabolism, and HDL metabolism and reverse cholesterol transport. This chapter focus on key steps in the lipid and lipoprotein metabolism that are targeted for pharmacotherapy.
