Abstract
A classification based on the compatibility of the linear systems and the number of the solutions is introduced. The first relations between a system and the associated homogeneous linear system are described. The construction of equivalent systems and the transformation of the systems by means of linear combinations explain the dynamics in dealing with discussion and solution procedures. The detailed use of the elementary operations, accompanied by many examples and exercises, eases system reduction.
