Abstract

Evaluation of different types of cytology specimens has played an important role in the evaluation of lung abnormalities and in the diagnosis and staging of lung lesions. This chapter illustrates and discusses the cytomorphological features of normal elements in respiratory cytology samples along with histologic correlation, aiming to avoid misinterpretation of normal respiratory elements as abnormal findings during cytologic evaluation of lung lesions.
