Abstract
This Clinical Case explains the diagnostic-therapeutic strategy followed by us in one of the most frequent situations for pulmonologists, i.e., a pleural effusion associated with a very probable lung tumour. This young 56-year-old patient presented a highly indicative radiological picture for right lung cancer with associated pleural effusion.
In these clinical situations, the objectives are as follows: diagnostic confirmation, definition of the histological type and resolution of the problem related to the recurrence of the pleural effusion.
In line with our experience in similar clinical situations, the immediate diagnostic approach with Medical Thoracoscopy enabled us to achieve all our objectives avoiding unnecessary waste of time.
