Abstract

Seeking to improve the well-being of individuals and the planet, the United Nations has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Given that they collect data that is aligned with the SDG objectives, many existing composite indexes are strong candidates to monitor progress towards SDG achievement. This chapter examines the roles and potential contributions of select composite indexes in the SDG effort.
