Abstract

Chapter 5 concludes the study with a forward look not only of the reception of Tennessee Williams in China in the years ahead, but also, more importantly, of Western arts and literature in general, including drama/theatre, especially in light of the marked tightening of sociocultural and ideological control since the mid-2010s.
