Abstract
The Gaussian curvature of a surface can be generalised to the so-called sectional curvatures for higher-dimensional manifolds. If these sectional curvatures are constant, then the curvature tensor has a fairly simple form. We restrict ourselves here to Riemannian manifolds, as we need the concepts for the manifold \({\mathbb R}^3\) equipped with a suitable Riemannian metric.
