Abstract

Collaborative robots (cobots) market is emerging rapidly since the last decade, and SMEs- small-medium-sized enterprises have the opportunity of dealing with High-Mix Low-Volume (HMLV) production by deploying collaborative robots. However, SMEs are facing certain challenges that may affect the cobots' deployment process. In this chapter, the main challenges for SMEs regarding cobot implementation are highlighted and it is discussed how computer simulations can be a vital tool to cope with these challenges.
