Abstract
The chapter will discuss the outpatient assessment of the patient with possible Covid-19. The outpatient provider’s tasks are the following:

Appropriately identify those who are sick enough to warrant inpatient treatment.

Recognize those patients who are at high risk for progression to severe Covid-19 based on risk factors and to guide them toward interruptive therapy with antibody infusion or inhibitors of viral replication.
-
Advise about testing, treatment, isolation/quarantine, and follow-up care including vaccination guidelines.
Patients with post-acute sequelae of Covid-19 (Long Covid) are also usually under the aegis of the primary care provider. The post-acute course of Covid-19 is described, and the assessment and management of these patients are discussed.
