Abstract
Dermoscopy is a non-invasive, in vivo technique based on the use of a skin surface microscope (dermoscope) that allows the evaluation of morphologic structures invisible to the naked eye and specifically correlated to histologic features. It is widely used for the diagnosis of skin tumors and several dermatoses. The dermoscopic patterns of several benign and malignant non-melanocytic tumors have been described in the literature. Some dermoscopic criteria are considered specific for one diagnosis, while some others can be found in more than one disease. The dermoscopic patterns of the most common benign and malignant non-melanocytic tumors are described below.
