New Trends in Disruptive Technologies, Tech Ethics and Artificial Intelligence (DiTTEt 2022)

Abstract

The need for integrated systems to assist deaf students in academic learning is an obsession of many teachers and researchers worldwide. It mainly addresses the greater accessibility of the whole deaf community to free knowledge. This work’s primary motivation was driving the realization of new actions to intensify and promote digital and social inclusion in the facilities of the Instituto Federal Catarinense, located in the city of Camboriú, Santa Catarina - Brazil. The social commitment of the federal institutes to form critical and aware citizens is highlighted in the Law 11.892/2008, their commitment to accessibility and inclusion. However, studies have been conducted on disruptive technologies using automated search platforms to prove their viability over the Internet in an agile and accessible way. Thus the paper describes the stages of the research, the development of a specialized platform, and highlights experiences as deaf students presented some interaction in their academic activities. The results are presented in the form of functional and non-functional requirements, criteria validation, follow-up of teaching and learning experiences on the proposed platform, and continuity for future actions.
