Abstract

Infectious complications are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in kidney transplant recipients and remain the second leading cause of mortality in kidney transplant recipients. Fungal infections comprise about 10% of the overall infections, but their mortality is extremely high, thus the clinician must have a high index of suspicion for fungal infections in kidney transplant patients.
