Abstract

The aim of the described design assignment was to develop modular and customizable construction kit for building the mobile robotic platforms with various controller boards. The project was co-developed by Institute of Design and Institute of Automotive Mechatronics at STU in Bratislava. Authors have applied the principles of open design to create fully functional, ready to use construction of an educational robot, fully produced by low cost FDM 3D printing technology. The paper describes the broader context of the project, development and prototyping of the Acrob3 platform.
