Abstract

This book comes from many years of experience in oral and implant surgery in which we attempted to rehabilitate edentulous jaws with an advanced degree of bone atrophy. We started with the less severe atrophies using tilted implants and then we used autologous bone grafts to reconstruct the bone loss, then we started using two, and then four zygomatic implants and finally in extreme atrophies we used a specific sub-periosteal implants custom built for the patient. Invasiveness, risck and long term success these are the key points of the decision for a surgical-technique. We have realized that there is probably no better technique than another, but perhaps only one technique is more suitable for the patient.
