The Effect of Information Technology on Business and Marketing Intelligence Systems

Abstract

Leadership and management have always been common among men, yet women are stepping and succeeding into these roles too. However, with any new change that is projected to a system, challenges arise to reach adaptation or even acceptance of the change. This paper aims in pointing out the challenges and difficulties faced by women in their leadership and management roles. Six factors were studied which are competence, perception, stereotyping, harassment, organizational culture, and gender inequality on the performance and participation of a person, and thus how they impact gender discrimination. The results have presented a set of impressive challenges faced by women in their leadership roles such as gender and sex-based discrimination, stereotyping, harassment, gender inequality and perceived incompetence. This paper articulates the importance of paying attention to the factors affecting women in leadership and management in order to empower them and decrease gender discrimination in the workspace.
