Abstract
Human behaviour has been dependent on the situation and environment; during an environmental crisis situation, the behaviour can depend on various factors. These can be explained by the theories given by Lazarus, Stuart and Selye. This leads to the development of specific behavioural responses rising from anxiety to full-blown depression and psychosis. Here in this chapter, we explore the dynamics of behaviour in environmental crisis, thereby attempting to understand the phenomenon of panic buying in the light of environmental crisis situation. In this chapter we discussed the prominent behavioural response during a disaster with a focus on panic buying behaviour.
