Abstract

Anthony White joined the Korean War in 1951, and he tells of the trials of combat. He narrowly avoided serious injury or death in mortar attacks, and feels better today about his service than when he left the Army. Anthony returned to Korea more than fifty years after his service and believes the war was worth his sacrifice given the advancements in South Korea. That has not diminished his dark and weary view of the fighting he encountered.
