Abstract
The shock of leaving home in 1953 for Korea, as a nineteen-year-old boy, has never left the memory of Christopher Garside. The death and injury to friends he met along the way continues to percolate in his mind. Still, the year he spent in Korea was a defining one. He says it gave him perspective on life, and a permanent connection to his fellow veterans. Christopher’s stories detail the day-to-day routine of infantry soldiers.
