Abstract
The M*A*S*H* television show and movie made Korean War hospitals famous. Alan Guy, a medical corps nurse, explains that healthcare on the front lines was much more than a M*A*S*H* tent and good humour. Training soldiers for Korea included learning about malaria, frostbite, and ulcerations. Alan educated his comrades and treated those with minor infections and injuries. He spent eighteen months in Korea, from January 1952 to September 1953.
