Abstract
Physical properties describe the shape, size distribution of dust particles, their friction properties, terminal velocity, shear stress–normal stress relationships, and specific surface. Most of these properties are unique for wood dusts due to their originating mechanism (brittle fracture) and the porous nature of solid woods. We treat here only those properties which influence the basic processes covered by this work. Most of these properties can only be determined experimentally.
