Abstract

The heart is one of the important organs of the human body. It pumps about more than 7500 L of blood in a day. As the workload on the heart is more, the consequences of heart disease may be severe. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality worldwide. This chapter covers the congenital and acquired heart disease, cardiomyopathies, cardiac tumors, and heart failure.
