Abstract

This chapter focuses on the liver, biliary system, and gall bladder. It preforms several functions such as secretion of bile, metabolism of sugar, fatty acids, amino acids, detoxification of the blood, storage of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins as well as minerals and vitamins and synthesis and secretion of albumin, coagulation factors, growth factors. This chapter deals with inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of the liver and biliary system.
