Abstract

Most modern radios use multiple antennas. This opens up multiple possibilities to increase either or both the performance and throughput of the radio. All MIMO options, but specifically spatial multiplexing, require very complicated algorithms and unusual arithmetic, especially at the receiver. In this chapter, we consider multiple hardware-friendly options for decoding MIMO signals at the receiver.
