Abstract
Erythematous scaling lesions can be observed in various dermatological conditions. We present a patient with several scaling, erythematous patches in the right gluteal region, unresponsive to multiple courses of topical steroids in the previous months. Direct microscopy revealed the presence of several septate hyphae, leading to a diagnosis of tinea incognito caused by dermatophytes.
