Abstract

An emerging field of science, called longevity medicine, is rapidly evolving aimed at investigating and detecting early biomarkers of age-related diseases based on advanced technologies. Thus, the availability of these advances in medicine would transform healthcare globally while paving the way towards a preventive, predictive, and personalized system. However, a revised education is necessary to prepare future healthcare professionals capable of identifying unmet clinical needs with a patient-centric, outcome-based, and multidisciplinary approach. Moreover, well-being, positive emotions, and dietary restrictions were found to potentially have geroprotective effects against age-related processes, and therefore related to a healthier lifespan. Furthermore, in response to the increasing rate of the ageing population and besides innovative trends in medicine, the promotion of worldwide events would positively influence public health and longevity. Thus, the importance of evolving a longevity mindset, made of healthy habits and a proactive attitude, would reverse the old concept of ageing, usually related to diseases and mortality, into an opportunity to cultivate health with positive, wiser, and forward-looking thinking.
