EKG Teaching Rounds

Abstract

Syncope is an extremely common complaint, with a select number of nefarious etiologies that need to be rapidly identified among the less sinister causes. This chapter highlights six key underlying pathologies that must be identified on EKG: Wolf-Parkinson-White Syndrome, QT prolongation, atrioventricular conduction blocks, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy, and Brugada Syndrome.
