Abstract

Herpes Zoster is a common viral disorder, occurs due to reactivation of latent Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) usually in adults or elderly patients. The dermatomes most frequently affected are the thoracic, cranial, lumbar, and sacral. The cutaneous eruption is frequently preceded by one to several days of pain in the affected area, although the pain may appear simultaneously or even following the skin eruption or the eruption may he painless. Herpes zoster occurring at two different sites in the same individual at the same time, involving more than two segments at each site has rarely been reported. In conclusion, HZ duplex unilateralis or bilateralis is a rare event. It is almost exclusively restricted to the immunocompromised patient. Occasionally affect healthy people.
