Abstract

Thanks to the vision magnification and the millimetric instruments provided by da Vinci system, more detailed understanding of precise periprostatic anatomy has been translated into better tumor control and higher level of function preservation during prostatectomy. This chapter highlights the extra-fascial techniques for robot-assisted radical prostatectomy, describing the anatomical findings and detailed surgical techniques. Performing extra-fascia dissection during RALRP is the standard technique for urologists. This technique is useful on patients with locally advanced disease on the purpose of pursuing oncological control.
