Key Principles of Ecosystem Formation and Functioning in the Financial Sphere

Abstract

The financial ecosystem is a conglomerate led by a financial institution, implementing on the basis of digital financial technology a full range of services and services necessary to meet all the basic needs of the customer. At first glance, the benefit of implementing this kind of business model is obvious, but along with the advantages, it also has a number of drawbacks, which requires a more detailed study. The aim of the research is to identify the peculiarities of formation and development processes of ecosystems in the financial sector at the present stage, and to analyze the impact of business model transformation on key financial indicators of the aggregator company. The article highlights the key features of financial ecosystem and discusses their classifications. Particular attention is paid to identifying the reasons for the formation of an ecosystem on the basis of credit institutions. Using the tools of econometric analysis, the degree of influence of the volume of investment in the construction of an ecosystem on the financial performance of the company-aggregator on the example of Russia’s largest commercial bank Sber. The author’s recommendations for improving the state regulation of financial ecosystems are offered.
