Abstract
The external factors of the current economic reality necessitate the study of the strategic development of industrial plants under transformational shocks. Transformational shocks have played a significant role, particularly in the last decades of the Russian economic development. Transformational shocks of the 90 s associated with the change in the economic system, shocks of 2008 induced by the global financial crisis, shocks of 2014 caused by the restoration of the country’s territorial integrity, and shocks of 2020 resulted from the biosocial and economic nature of the global crisis of 2020 significantly weakened the Russian economy and Russian industry. They hindered strategic development of domestic industrial plants and simultaneously erected barriers to its further movement and opened up new opportunities. Transformational shocks revealed a number of problems of Russian business and its strategic development, and the need for structural and technological transformations, the need for innovative solutions and organizational forms. The aim of the study was to substantiate new strategic development of industrial plants integrated in an economy exposed to transformational shocks. The study identified new opportunities for strategic development of industrial plants in the context of transformational shocks and assessed the developmental state of Russian industrial plants and their strategic priorities. Tools for sustainable strategic development of industrial plants under transformational shocks were developed. The study employed methods of strategic and structural analysis, reproduction approach, systematic approach, and theoretical potential of transformational and institutional economics. The novelty of the study is the development of theoretical and practical tools for strategic development of industrial plants in the context of transformational shocks.
