Abstract

A decade has passed since the global financial system introduced a new phenomenon, cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. That is evolving in Turkey where there is strong involvement with world finance capital. In this paper, we first investigate main dynamics of cryptocurrencies. Their characteristics, usage, functions and role in globe briefly. The remainder of the chapter devoted solely Turkish case. How the legal system fits into those new instruments. We also searched the drives of Turkish citizen’s demand for these new assets and their ability to cope with this investment opportunity. In the end, we do share our humble opinions for the future trends of cryptocurrency for Turkish economy.
