Abstract
Twenty-one participants “drove” a simulated vehicle for one hour on an eight-lane rural highway. Data were aggregated from different scenarios (2 (Language: English, Spanish) × 2 (number of boards: 1, 3)). The results showed a significant main effect of language familiarity on driving performance. The higher standard deviations of speed and acceleration were found in Spanish condition. The research results showed that the impact of language familiarity on driving performance needs further research and attention.
