Abstract
The first part of this study has laid out the groundwork for the application of the rules of international economic law. The contours of contemporary electricity sectors have emerged as a basis on which to examine the suitability of the general and sector-specific trade rules in existence. It was shown that electricity shares some features with related economic sectors like the oil and gas industries, but also with telecommunications. At the same time, electricity is unique in many aspects and requires tailor-made regulatory solutions.
