Abstract
Giuseppe Terragni and Aldo Rossi took advantage of projects of monuments destined for individual or collective memory for formal and compositional experimentation. These architectures have in common the use of a forceful geometry, the importance of the materiality that defines the project, especially the stone, and the way to appropriate the place. For these reasons, four works by these influential Italian architects of the 20th century were chosen as learning model for the subject Architectural Graphic Expression 1 of the degree in Architecture at the University of Granada. The methodology used is based on placing the student as the protagonist of their own learning, the teacher occupying the role of mentor or director, guiding the student in their research and knowledge processes. The use of such significant architectural references constitutes a motivating element for the students, enhances the cross-curricular subjects between of the degree and breaks with the isolation that the study of the most abstract geometric forms supposes.
