Abstract

When we were examining existing literature to identify main topics of interest at the intersection of disability, AT and accessibility research, work and education emerged as the two areas that gathered significantly more attention from researchers and designers compared to others. A series of quick searches of the ACM digital library revealed that the combination of keywords “disability AND employment” produced 13,927 results and “disability AND education” generated 9,021 articles, whereas “disability AND health” resulted in 6,867 publications and “disability AND transport” found only 4,171 potentially relevant articles.
