Abstract
The steps for designing a trustworthy repository were outlined in Section 1.1. The necessary design elements included:

creation of management documents;
-
specification of repository parameters;
-
specification of preservation metadata attributes;
-
specification of audit mechanisms to track all preservation actions;
-
specification of policies that control operations performed upon the digital objects; and
-
specification of infrastructure that manages technology evolution.
