Abstract

Neurosurgery is an esoteric field, which demands exemplary judgment, logical decision-making, and meticulous execution. “Medicine is a science of uncertainty and an art of probability”—William Osler. Given that Medicine is an uncertain field, yet the room for error is minuscule, rather non-permissible, and often non-forgivable; but human as we are, there is proneness to errors of omission and commission, and the effects of such errors can be devastating for the patient and his/her family/caregivers, and even for the surgeon’s own reputation, and for the institution where the patient is being treated.
