Abstract

Underwater communications can be carried out using ELF and VLF radio waves. However, as we discussed in the previous chapter, there are several shortcomings to the use of this underwater communication channel. But perhaps more restrictive, these systems are characterized by a extremely small data bandwidth, about 300 bits per second for VLF and a few bits per minute for ELF.
