Abstract

Urinary fistulas have a major impact on quality of life. Repair of urinary fistulas is mostly re-do surgeries that were performed earlier with open relaparotomies. Advanced robotic urology provides new options to repair complex urinary fistulas in a minimal invasive approach.

M. Randazzo and H. John describe the reconstructive robotic approach for vesicovaginal fistulas as a safe and successful option with standard techniques and flap interpositions. J. Rassweiler reports the robot-assisted technique to close rectovesical fistulas, and D. Pushkar demonstrates the step-by-step management of ureterovaginal fistulas. The development of advanced reconstructive robotic urology provides nowadays a minimal invasive approach in the routine even in this complex re-do surgeries, providing excellent and safe results.
