Abstract
Robotic simple prostatectomy is indicated in patients with enlarged glands (>80 g) who present with lower urinary tract symptoms attributed to benign prostatic hyperplasia. Currently, the robotic approach affords better perioperative outcomes over the open approach with more favorable estimated blood loss, length of stay, duration of catheterization, and elimination of continuous bladder irrigation. The robotic approach can be performed via a variety of approaches. Herein, we describe our technique in performing a robotic simple prostatectomy.
