Abstract

The concluding chapter highlights the puppet’s expressive vitality and significance as idea and image. This chapter summarizes the philosophical, cultural, and aesthetic influence that the Italian puppet theater holds across different types of media production, including digital animation. Therefore, the future of the various forms of this ancient Italian tradition is located along the thematic threads studied throughout the book, which relate to existential and political satire, the negotiation of power dynamics, the exploration of metaphysical and ecological questions, and allegorical representations of ethnic identity and history.
