Abstract
Venezuela today faces the impact of a Complex Humanitarian Emergency with international repercussions. Submerged in an acute conflict and socio-political polarization for more than 20 years, its inhabitants suffer daily the absence of essential services; in addition to an escalation of violence, hyperinflation, migratory exodus, and serious human rights violations.
During this multidimensional crisis, citizens are fighting for a democratic transition while developing forms of resistance that challenge an authoritarian model that seeks to break the population’s will and dignity.
The chapter offers some keys to favoring the processes of democratic reconstruction and social reparation during an uncertain and complex period of political transition. Parallel to the urgency of the changes required in the economic, political, and institutional spheres, those actions tending to depolarization, the reconstruction of the social fabric fractured by the conflict, the fight against impunity, and the search for justice for the victims, as well as the construction of scenarios of a shared common future, which favor peaceful and democratic coexistence in the country, also stand out.
