Communication-Protocol-Based Filtering and Control of Networked Systems

Abstract

This chapter is concerned with the set-membership filtering problem for a type of time-varying systems with mixed-time-delays subject to the Round-Robin protocol and Try-Once-Discard protocol. Firstly, the signal transmission models subject to the Round-Robin protocol and Try-Once-Discard protocol are formulated, respectively. The aim of this chapter is to design the set-membership filter for the underlying time-varying systems capable of confining the state estimate of the system to certain ellipsoidal region subject to the bounded non-Gaussian noises. Then, by resorting to the recursive matrix inequality-based approach, sufficient conditions are proposed for the existence of the desired set-membership filter. Subsequently, the required time-varying filter parameter is calculated recursively subject to different underlying communication protocols in terms of two online optimization problems.
