Clinical Approaches to Hospital Medicine

Abstract

Racial disparities in medicine have been acknowledged for decades and continue to persist across healthcare systems. Minority groups face disparities in many domains, including morbidity, mortality, and prevalence of various diseases. Efforts have been made to try to reduce the amount of racial disparity seen in hospitals, but the disparity still exists in many areas. This chapter reviews some of the common areas with racial disparities occur and potential solutions.
