Abstract
The SARS-CoV-2 virus has been shown to have a variety of complications, especially in the critically ill. These complications include but are not limited to sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and shock. It would be impossible to discuss these complications as they related specifically to severe COVID-19 illness without discussing the general body of information that exists to describe the general classification, nature, and treatment of these various complications. In this chapter, a brief discussion over information concerning various broad complications as well as how they can be practically applied at the bedside is provided.
